This Privacy Policy describes how EventNote (“we”, “our”, or “us”) collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the EventNote mobile application (“App”). By using the App, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
1. Who We Are
EventNote is a photography and event management application designed for photographers, videographers, and production professionals. The App helps you manage bookings, clients, schedules, and tasks.
Data you enter in the App:
- Event details: title, date and time, timezone, location, type of shoot, pricing, prepayment amounts, notes
- Client information: name, phone number, Telegram handle, Instagram handle, website
- To-do tasks and deadlines associated with events
- Event photos and reference images
- Your role (e.g. photographer, videographer, production assistant)
- Location data — collected only when you use the Sun Track feature and only while the App is in use. Used to calculate the sun’s position and path for photography planning. Accurate to approximately 100 meters.
- Device timezone — used to correctly display and schedule your events.
- Push notification tokens — collected when you grant notification permissions, used to deliver local reminders for your events and deadlines.
When you subscribe to EventNote Pro, Apple’s App Store and RevenueCat process your transaction. We receive confirmation of your subscription status and entitlements. We do not receive or store your payment card details.
2.4 Calendar Import (Optional)
If you choose to import events from a calendar, the App reads existing events so you can select which ones to add to EventNote. Only the events you explicitly select are imported, and imported events are stored locally on your device like any event you create yourself. The App only ever reads your calendars — it never creates, edits, or deletes events in them.
- Apple Calendar — with your permission, the App reads events from your device calendars (approximately two years back and two years ahead) using Apple’s EventKit framework. This happens entirely on your device. No calendar data is sent to us or to any third party.
- Google Calendar — if you choose to sign in with Google, the App requests read-only access to the events in your primary Google Calendar (the
calendar.events.readonly scope) and fetches them over a secure connection directly between your device and Google. Signing in also shares your basic Google account information (such as your name and email address) with the App, as part of Google’s standard sign-in flow. We do not operate a server, so your calendar data and Google account information are never transmitted to us; they stay on your device. Your Google credentials are handled by Google’s Sign-In SDK and are never seen or stored by us. You can revoke the App’s access at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
For each imported event, the App reads the title, description, location, start and end times, and timezone.
2.5 Usage and Diagnostic Data
To understand how the App is used and to fix problems, we collect anonymous usage and crash data:
- Feature and screen events — which screens you open and which actions you take, for example completing onboarding, creating an event, opening the subscription screen, importing from a calendar, or opening a link. We record that an action happened and its category — never its content. When you create an event we record which types of information blocks were used; we never record the event title, client, location, notes, or price.
- Your selected role (e.g. photographer, videographer) — attached to these events so we can understand how different professions use the App.
- App lifecycle events — installs, launches, updates, and app version.
- Device and app context — device model, operating system version, app version, language, and timezone.
- Approximate location derived from your IP address — our analytics providers resolve your IP to a country/region level. We do not use precise location for analytics.
- Crash reports — stack traces, device state at the time of a crash (model, OS version, available memory), and a randomly generated installation identifier.
This data is anonymous: the App does not create an account-based analytics profile, and does not send your name, email address, phone number, or the content of your data to any analytics provider. It is not used for advertising, is not sold, and is not used to track you across other companies’ apps or websites.

4. Third-Party Services
The App integrates with the following third-party services. Each service has its own privacy policy.
Apple iCloud / CloudKit
- Purpose: Optional background sync of your events, contacts, tasks, and images across your Apple devices.
- Activated by: Enabling iCloud sync (Pro feature). Disabled by default.
- Data shared: All CoreData records you create in the App.

Google Sign-In and Google Calendar API
- Purpose: Optional one-time import of events from your Google Calendar.
- Activated by: Choosing “Connect Google Calendar” during onboarding or in Settings.
- Data shared: Your Google sign-in is handled by Google. The App receives your basic account information and read-only access to the events in your primary calendar. No calendar data or account information is transmitted to us — it is used on your device only.
- Revoking access: myaccount.google.com/permissions

RevenueCat
- Purpose: Subscription and in-app purchase management for EventNote Pro.
- Data shared: Purchase transactions, subscription status, entitlement data, and anonymized device identifiers.

Google Places SDK
- Purpose: Location search and autocomplete when adding an event location.
- Data shared: Search queries you type in the location field.

Apple StoreKit
- Purpose: Processing in-app purchases through the App Store.
- Data shared: Transaction data handled entirely by Apple.
- Policy: apple.com/legal/privacy
PostHog
- Purpose: Product analytics — understanding which features are used and where people encounter problems.
- Data shared: Anonymous device identifier, feature and screen events, selected role, app version, device model, OS version, language, timezone, and IP-derived approximate location.
- Data location: European Union (EU cloud region).

Firebase Analytics (Google)
- Purpose: Aggregate usage measurement and retention analysis.
- Data shared: Anonymous app instance identifier, feature and screen events, app version, device model, OS version, and IP-derived approximate location.

Firebase Crashlytics (Google)
- Purpose: Crash and stability reporting.
- Data shared: Crash stack traces, device state at the time of the crash, app version, and a randomly generated installation identifier.

5. Data Storage and Security
Local storage: The majority of your data is stored on your device in an encrypted SQLite database managed by Apple’s CoreData framework. This data never leaves your device unless you opt in to iCloud sync.
iCloud: When iCloud sync is enabled, your data is stored in your personal iCloud account and governed by Apple’s security practices. We do not have access to your iCloud data.
Backups: The App creates local snapshot backups in your device’s Documents directory. A maximum of 12 snapshots are kept; older backups are automatically deleted.
Analytics and diagnostics: Anonymous usage and crash data is transmitted over HTTPS/TLS to the analytics providers listed in Section 4. This data is not linked to your name, email, or any account, and never contains the content of your events, clients, notes, prices, photos, or files.

You can revoke any permission at any time in your device Settings.
7. Children’s Privacy
The App is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
8. Your Rights and Choices
Depending on your location, you may have rights regarding your personal data, including:
- Access — request a copy of the data we hold about you.
- Correction — update inaccurate data directly within the App or by contacting us.
- Deletion — delete any data you have created directly within the App, or remove all of it by deleting the App from your device. If iCloud sync is enabled, data can also be removed from your iCloud account in iOS Settings.
- Portability — the App’s backup feature allows you to export your local data as SQLite snapshots.
- Withdrawal of consent — revoke location, camera, photo library, calendar, or notification permissions at any time via iOS Settings, and revoke Google Calendar access at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
- Objection to analytics — contact us at the address in Section 11 to request that your usage data be excluded from analytics.
California residents (CCPA): We do not sell personal information.
EEA/UK residents (GDPR): We do not transfer personal data outside your region unless using the services listed in Section 4, each of which provides adequate safeguards.
9. Data Retention
- Local data is retained on your device until you delete it or uninstall the App.
- iCloud data is retained in your iCloud account under Apple’s retention policies.
- Analytics and crash data is retained by our analytics providers under their own retention schedules (typically 12 months or less for usage events, and 90 days for crash reports).
- Backup snapshots are automatically managed; the App retains a maximum of 12 snapshots.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last Updated” date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
